there are 3 current threads that say these very things.

(ok, the one about armageddon says it will come within days or weeks--not months--so that means june 2007.

seems to me this is whipping up into a paranoia bigger than the 1980s apostate scare, bigger than they've ever seen before.

Good news!!

i've been doing a major cleaning today, anything that hasn't been used or looked at for a while is getting tossed.

one of the biggest things that needs to go is all our jw books and bound volumes.

i've gotten rid of all the loose wt and awakes quite a while ago.. today when hubby came home from work, and saw the bags to go to the dump he was impressed!

it's not that they say anything all that astounding, it's more that they point out how very little has to be said.

if a new policy arose stating that everyone could return and start afresh, would you ever think about returning----especially if you had family and friends in that would now talk to you again?

Seriously, it is the most abstract question I have ever encountered.

I am trying to be a bit more empathetic in my comments as I realize there are a lot of "lurkers," here, and I don't know how to handle it.

OK, I'll be as kind as possible:

Would I go back to being a poly-bag in the shape of a human filled with every form of spirtual pus, fecal matter, vomit, and slime and having it dribble down my chin every time I opened my mouth to defend WT doctrine or practice?

NEW policy! NO LIT for EX-JWs!

it's official; they read the letter tonight that puts forth the new procedure.

if you find an expelled person in the field or are studying with one, you are no longer permitted to give them lit.

presumably the elders make a decision if an expelled one is regularly attending meetings, but only they can give them lit.

ok, so there`s a tv ad doing the rounds in the uk about yoghurt and its strapline is "do you lick the lid of life?

" so it gets me thinking.

to my knowledge, and i could be wrong here, but as far as i know, yoghurt in cartons is the only food in which our instant reaction is to lick the lid...i can`t think of any more ...can you?.

Would Any of You be Interested in going Door to Door?

to de-ignorize (new word) householders and give them tools for engaging a cult member on their door step?

i had that idea and got some positive feedback...so, any of you would find that something you would want to participate in ?

I understand, as do many, MANY here, your "wanting to even the score" in some way. I have spent a LOT of time going over this topic. Here, for what they are worth, are my "after four and a half year exited opinion:"

Following the Witnessess to do what? Talk to people who don't give a hoot aobut the Witnessess and thier message? The vast, vast majority of people are not at home, could care less, or are angered by these chuckleheads being on thier doorstep. It might frustrate the Witnessess...but, due to the cult induced idea of "persecution" and "the evil slave," probably not.

Maybe, a better idea (and, this is what I am planning on doing) is this: the ones to help are in what I call the WT Twighlight Zone: those that are thinking of comming in and are still investigating and those that are in and want out...but do not know how to go about it.

They are at the Kingdom Halls. They can not be approached, they can be notified. How? Banners.

Contact Silent Lambs. They can arrange for a banner for you to post. Spend a hundred bucks, note the web site address, real simple, real plain, (contact the site, first, for permission) and pick a web site you like. Start a route...say five halls in your area. Each Sunday, simply put up the banner, kick back in a lawn chair, read a book, drink a glass of ice tea, and relax. Network and have someone assist. If you are broke, like I am, generate the money through donations. Pick a ministry that offers email and a phone number.

Knowing what I know, now, if I was going into a judicial meeting like you, I would take in a bucket of water, throw it on the two Elders I did not like, and calmly set down like nothing happened.

I would tell them it is an object lesson. The water would be the water from the pool at the YMCA. I would tell them water is water, YMCA or not. See? You guys are just wet. It is just water.....

But that is me.

I do not always take the wisest course, however, usually, I get my point across.

Help Needed on Problems with WTS

hi everyone, hope this finds you all well!

i am in the process of getting out, but could do with help.. i am wanting to know more of the doubts/concerns, cover ups/scandals and abuse etc.

i keep getting asked why i am no longer going but find it hard to have material to back up what i am saying.
